Any Christmas gift ideas for the kids?

Every Christmas Eve, I have a huge get together for the kids in my family. However, with the family ever growing and the economy being what it is, I don’t have the finances to do as much as I did last year. How can I not disappoint the kids on a budget? The kids range from 1 month to 14 years old. There are about 20 kids in all. Would it be tacky to buy gifts that the kids can share such as board games or computer games for households with multiple kids? Please help. The kids are looking forward to this and I don’t want to disappoint.
Also, for the parents answering this question, would you be offended if someone got your child a pet for Christmas? Such as a hamster, or fish?

*SIGH* They’re all pretty wealthy.. so they’ll be getting big expensive presents from their parents (my brothers and sisters) and my parents. I want them to enjoy the presents…but not kill myself. It could be a general gift for all of them, or specific to them. Whatever you can think of… for all of them or for ANY of them. HELP HELP HELP!
I’m willing to get crafty and spend time.. just give me some ideas!
So far only phoenixellen has the right idea… barbie dolls, cds, and the like.. even from wal mart add up REALLY fast. Plus they’re already getting expensive things from others. Who wants a cheap barbie when you already got 10 expensive ones?
I think I will go check our hobby lobby/michaels for craft kits.
